Food chain Musgrave has landed a number of gongs at this year's Ulster Grocer Marketing Awards. The business, which owns brands such as SuperValu and Centra, won the honours at an event at the Culloden Hotel, outside Belfast.

SuperValu picked up two awards after the Musgrave brand was "recognised for its investment in the local agri-food sector".

It won best new product launch for its Best Beef Ever and Best Artisan Food campaigns.

Centra received a highly commended accolade in the best marketing campaign category for its Let's Rock Christmas scheme.

Musgrave's head of marketing, Desi Derby, said: "We're delighted to be awarded for our work across both our SuperValu and Centra brands at the leading grocery marketing awards in Northern Ireland.

"SuperValu's campaigns were an integral part of Northern Ireland's Year of Food and Drink with our lead chef ambassador, Noel McMeel.

"Our customers appreciate the work we do to bring them the best-quality local produce, whether that be 21 days' matured beef, our best beef ever or showcasing our local artisan suppliers in-store as part of the Meet the Makers sampling roadshow.

"It's extra-special, though, when the industry recognises the work too."
