Growth for Hireco as £4.6m orders allows firm to expand

By Staff Reporter

Trailer hire firm Hireco is further expanding its fleet thanks to a £4.6m investment.

The Belfast-based company is adding dozens of new units as part of its latest growth.

It comes just weeks after Hireco revealed it was adding 400 new trailers to its fleet in a deal with Co Antrim manufacturer SDC, worth around £8m.

It employs around 100 staff throughout its UK and Ireland operations.

The new deal includes 20 box vans and fridge trailers from two German firms.

But the bulk of the investment was a £3.5m deal for trailers from Dennison in Lancaster.

Hireco director Tony Wan said: "The major order indicates the confidence we have in the UK's transport and logistics industry with Hireco making over £25m worth of investment in new trailers in the past financial year.

"We are also in the process of looking at an exciting new avenue for the business and we will be making further major investment announcements in the coming months."

"Continually investing in our fleet allows us to offer a high standard of service to our customers and be competitive in the equipment rental industry.

"Our companies' growth is now significant, and our ability to meet customer requirements in today's market with a minimum of fuss and excellent logistical strength is a source of growing pride across our growing retinue of staff."

James Dennison of Dennison Trailers said the firm was "more than delighted to be a preferred supplier for skeletal trailers to Hireco and wish them all the very best for the future with their continued expansion plans".
