Haulage firm duo's boardroom ban

By Margaret Canning

A Co Tyrone father and son have been given combined boardroom bans of 15 years after their road haulage firm went bust owing over £0.7m.

Maurice Rice (57), from Killymeal Road in Dungannon, was described as "actively obstructive" towards the liquidator of his company, Maurice Rice and Son, based at Edendork Road in the town.

Mr Rice was disqualified as a director for 12 years - close to the maximum 15-year penalty - for misconduct including failing to account for company assets which he bought from the company, failing to deliver assets to the liquidator and failing to keep accounts.

Maurice James Rice (29), who lives at the same address as his father, was banned for three years.
