Heinz workers to vote on pay offer

WORKERS at food giant Heinz are to vote on a new pay offer aimed at ending a long-running dispute which has led to a series of strikes. Unite said it believed a proposed two-year deal of a 3.9% rise each year will be accepted by its members at the firm's site in Wigan. The new offer was made after talks at conciliation service Acas, with balloting due to close next Tuesday.
