Ice cream outlet scoops BoI support

By Clare Weir

A Co Tyrone ice cream business has become the 3,000th customer to sign up to a Bank of Ireland package for small businesses.

The Biddy Bo Treaterie, which is the first HB Swirl It Express ice cream franchise in Northern Ireland, has created seven new jobs in Dungannon.

Bank of Ireland's support has helped to fund the fit-out of the new outlet, which is owned by Energy First.

Paul Slevin, commercial manager, joined store manager Una O'Neill at the Dungannon confectionery and ice cream shop.

Mr Slevin said: "Many businesses still perceive credit as unobtainable. At Bank of Ireland, we understand that small businesses are the lifeblood of the local economy and support from the banks is key to helping them grow.

"There has been incredible demand for the essentials for business package from both new and established small businesses over the past two years, with over 100 businesses signing up each month since it was launched."
