India deal suits Savile Row
A Co Derry menswear firm is to benefit from an export deal to India.
The Savile Row Company in Castledawson will support a contract won by its London-based retail operation, 40 Savile Row.
The brand will occupy two franchise units within the Study by Janek (SBJ) House of Luxury department stores in New Delhi.
The shops are to be closely based on the London outlet and will see the Northern Ireland-made garments sold alongside clothes from Italian fashion houses such as Massimo Rebecchi, Daniele Alessandrini and Gaudi.
Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI trade director said: "Savile Row has been quick to identify and grasp the business opportunities for fashion garments from the UK and Europe now growing strongly as a result of India's vibrant economy and the rapid expansion of a new and affluent middle class in huge urban centres such as Delhi, India's richest city, as well as Mumbai and Kolkata".
Jeffrey Doltis, Savile Row managing director said: "The two luxury stores in New Delhi are the first stage in a major investment planned by SBJ House of Luxury throughout the north of India, where demand for luxury clothing and other products from Europe is continuing to grow strongly".
