John Lewis boss 'to size up Sprucefield on trip'

A visit to Northern Ireland by the chief of John Lewis is on the cards, it has emerged.

The move is part of a new push to attract the British retail giant to Sprucefield.

But John Lewis managing director Paula Nickolds is unlikely to come until after the Assembly election on March 2.

Lagan Valley MP Jeffrey Donaldson said Ms Nickolds would be keen to meet the First Minister during a trip, which he added was "on the cars". He also vowed to follow up on the invite within the next few weeks.

Ms Nickolds (43) took over the job last year from Andy Street. She has worked for the retail chain for 22 years.
