Judges reveal the Northern Ireland shortlist for top business awards

Companies from across Northern Ireland are on their way to a glittering ceremony in London after making the shortlist for the 2017 Viscount Awards. The awards programme is run by magazine Ulster Business and Aer Lingus, and aims to celebrate exceptional businesses and their people.

Categories in the awards, which culminate in a ceremony in London on May 24, include innovation, export, employee focus and overall growth.

Shortlisted firms have now been selected in all nine categories by a panel of judges.

The finalists in the Best SME Award are McElmeel Mobility Services, The Deluxe Group and TS Foods.

The Best Business Start-Up Award has two finalists, Equi-Nutritive and Digital TwentyFour. Allstate and CDEnviro are shortlisted for the Employee Champion Award and the Exporter of the Year Award shortlist features AES Global, EDGE Innovate, Gilbert-Ash and MJM Group.

IT giant Allstate is also a finalist in the Innovation of the Year Award, joining Babocush and Out There Services.  AES Global also features in the Fast Growth Business Award category, along with Mount Charles, Selective Travel Management and WIS Group. 

And the businessperson of the year award has three finalists - Gareth Loye of M&M Contractors, John Toner of WIS Group and Keith Graham of Selective Travel Management.

The final takes place at the headquarters of the Institute of Directors at Pall Mall.
