Travel comparison website Kayak has launched in Ireland as part of its expansion into eight new countries across three continents.

The first three websites are now live in Ireland, Australia and The Netherlands, with sites in Mexico, New Zealand, Belgium, Hong Kong and Singapore due to launch within the next two weeks.

Kayak.ie allows users to compare hundreds of travel websites at once, in a single display.

Steve Hafner, co-founder and chief executive of Kayak, said: "International growth has long been a strategic objective for Kayal and one of the most significant synergies provided by joining The Priceline Group."
