Krispy Kreme's sales rise by 3.5%

Doughnut chain Krispy Kreme showed no signs of slimming down its aggressive expansion plans yesterday after sales growth accelerated last year.

The company, which sold more than 50m doughnuts and 1m cups of coffee in the UK last year, reported a 3.5% increase in like-for-like sales in 2011, compared to a 1.4% lift in 2010.
