Legal eagles get X Factor

Belfast's solicitors and surveyors will be singing their hearts out this Thursday for a charity talent night organised by property agents Savills.

Talented employees from solicitors Arthur Cox, Carson McDowell, Tughans and Willis and Savills' fellow property companies will be vying to entertain a panel of three judges and a discerning audience at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

They will be raising money for the Adsum Foundation, a Northern Ireland charity which works on humanitarian projects in the developing world.

Claire McAnallen, head of corporate social responsibility at Savills, said: "We have had an overwhelming response to our talent night, and we can see this becoming an annual event. It's a great opportunity to bring everyone together combining networking with fun."

Staff from Savills' Belfast and Dublin offices will also perform at the event, which is hosted by DJ Pete Snodden and former Victoria Square manager, Hugh Black.

Savills has a fundraising target of £12,000 for the night, which they intend to use to build two schools in Madagascar.

Corporate tables for Thursday's event have sold out but standing tickets can be reserved through Savills. Doors open at 7pm and the talent show will begin around 8.15pm.
