Northern Ireland's Beannchor Group continues to buck the economic trend with a £1m investment in its pizza chain.

The fourth branch of Little Wing is to open its doors in Bangor next month, employing 25. The company already operates three restaurants in Belfast. The Bangor opening will bring the total number employed by Little Wing to 100.

The new restaurant will seat 50 people and is due to open on October 30 with plans for another restaurant in Holywood in 2011.

Little Wing has ambitious plans to roll out restaurants across the island over the next few years in various locations including Omagh, Enniskillen, Mullingar and central Dublin among others.

Little Wing managing director, Conall Wolsey, said this latest opening would forge links with the community, as he and company founder Bill Wolsey are from Bangor.

"Coming from Bangor, and having a long association with the town, we are delighted to be opening our fourth restaurant on Main Street," he said.

"Our restaurants focus on providing quality, healthy Italian food served in pleasant surroundings at an affordable price."
