Management reshuffle at manufacturing company

Five senior managers at Antrim manufacturer SAM Mouldings have become part owners of the company after a successful management buy-in.

SAM Mouldings was established in 1990 and manufactures a range of pre-primed and wrapped MDF architectural mouldings from its purpose built manufacturing facility in Antrim.

The five — Richard Holmes, Hugh Leverty, Gerard Wilson, Mark Kirkpatrick and Tim Patton — have each acquired a shareholding alongside existing shareholders Sam and Julienne McCrea.

Mr McCrea, who becomes chief executive, said: “The members of the senior team have been together since 2001 with most of them having been here over thirteen years.

“So it is a good move for the company and helps commit the senior team to continue working together for the longer term. “

Richard Holmes, who becomes managing director, spoke of 2010 as an “exciting time” and revealed “some promising partnerships” have already been confirmed for this year.

Hugh Laverty, who led the process and becomes finance director, said: “The process went smoothly from the start and all involved are very pleased with the outcome. Buying into the company at this time was an opportunity that we all welcomed.”
