McCue Crafted Fit is on board for Thomson ship deal
Specialist firm McCue Crafted Fit has won deals kitting out two cruise ships owned by Thomson Cruises.
Staff from McCue, which is based in Carrickfergus, will revamp the Thomson Celebration in Cyprus and the Thomson Dream in Gibraltar.
The contracts, whose worth remains undisclosed, are the first for the firm since it entered the competitive marine market earlier this year.
Managing director Les McCracken said: "These contracts are significant for us and provide a strong vote of confidence in our ability to deliver on important projects in the marine sector."
McCue will be fitting out Asian-themed restaurants on both ships, renovating a cafe on the Thomson Dream and adding a new bar prefabricated by the firm in Carrickfergus to the Cyprus ship.
McCue has worked on major retail and hotel projects, including revamps at luxury London hotels the Savoy, Claridges and the Berkeley.
But Mr McCracken said the marine sector had been on its radar for some time, and it worked to become more competitive on turnkey projects.
