McDonald's award delights Disten boss

By Margaret Canning

A property services company in Londonderry has won an award for its work for fast food chain McDonald's. Disten Property Maintenance, which is based at Skeoge Industrial Estate, was named McDonald's Service Company of the Year at a recent awards ceremony.

The firm carries out building and maintenance work at McDonald's company-owned restaurants in Scotland and northern England.

Managing director John Keyes said that its success was down to the hard work and dedication of the company "in delivering consistent and proactive contract duties".

"I'm absolutely delighted to have been recognised by McDonald's with such a prestigious award," he said.

"I accepted the honour on behalf of all my team, as the award is a testament to the skill, dedication and professionalism of everyone who works on our McDonald's account."

Paul Ward, head of restaurant services at McDonald's, said Disten Property Maintenance had become a "key partner".

"A significant factor in Disten Property Maintenance's success, is the time and attention taken to communicate with the franchisees and our own company-operated restaurants," he said.

"These key characteristics, together with other admirable qualities, have allowed them to become a key partner in a very short period of time."

Disten, founded in 2007, also provides services to help with flood and fire damage restoration.
