Belfast's Merchant Hotel has been named the first AA Hotel of the Year for Northern Ireland at the UK-wide AA Hospitality Awards.
The awards, which took place at the London Hilton on Park Lane, celebrate outstanding excellence in hospitality.
And the Merchant's big win means it is now Belfast's only AA five-star rated hotel.
Gavin Carroll, general manager of the Cathedral Quarter venue, said: "We are thrilled and honoured to have won this prestigious award from such a well-respected organisation as the AA. It further demonstrates the leaps and bounds that Belfast has made in recent years.
"We are proud of the role that The Merchant has played in the development of Belfast's social scene and we will continue to strive for excellence, offering five-star service and facilities to visitors and residents alike."
The Merchant Hotel is owned by the Beannchor Group, which has a portfolio of over 50 pubs, hotels and restaurants across Northern Ireland. Earlier this month, the group opened its latest venue, The National Grande Café, in High Street in Belfast.
