My Tour Talk lands contract to supply Welsh guide app
A Northern Ireland company has won a deal worth an undisclosed sum to provide an audio visual tour guide app covering 870 miles of Welsh coastline.
My Tour Talk was advised by IT industry body Momentum on its successful bid for the contract, which it secured over 65 other companies.
The company, headed up by Julie McNeice, has already developed tour guide apps for smartphones for the Northern Ireland Tourist Board as well as councils north and south of the border.
Ms McNeice said: "This export opportunity was supported by working with Momentum when we developed an iPhone and Android app for the Ulster Historical Foundation.
"This led to us pitching for the building of an app for the full 870 miles of Wales coastal path." She described the tendering process as "robust".
"We are now involved with developing an iPhone and Android app for the full coast whilst identifying a number of strategic partners who will promote the apps along the path," Ms McNeice added. Momentum chief executive Ian Graham said: "This company is a real example of what can be achieved when a young company with excellent ideas comes together with Momentum's support programme for members."
