A new £280m power station - the largest such investment here in two decades - could power up to 50% of Northern Ireland's homes and businesses, it's been claimed.

Evermore is developing a huge gas-fired plant at Belfast Harbour, and co-founder Ciaran Devine says the company hopes to submit plans for it in the next few weeks.

Mr Devine has said the construction of the station will create 700 jobs, with around 50 "skilled operators" being hired to run it, once completed.
