New competition calls on ‘talented’ directors
Company directors in Northern Ireland have been urged to have a go at becoming the UK Director of the Year.
The competition is a new one which aims to heighten the appreciation of the contribution that business leaders make to society and the economy.
It is run by the Institute of Directors whose director in Northern Ireland, Linda Brown, said: “We’ve a great deal of boardroom talent in Northern Ireland and many highly successful companies.
“We’re urging directors of these companies not to be shy and to put forward their names, because we believe they deserve national recognition.”
There are seven categories in the awards and entries from Northern Ireland directors will be judged by the IoD here before the local winners are nominated to all the categories in the UK finals.
