A Northern Ireland risk management firm has opened up its first office in England.

Willis Insurance and Risk Management now has its third office - in Reading in the south-east.

The business already has offices in Coleraine and Belfast, employing 60 people in total.

Managing director Richard Willis said its move into Great Britain was "a natural progression as part of our plans to grow the business further. The office in Reading will act as a hub for activity in the south east of England, providing all insurance, claims, management and financial planning needs." And he said Reading and the Thames Valley had similar population and target markets to Northern Ireland.

"We already have a number of London-based clients who look to us for a better standard of personal, attentive service and bespoke risk management, so the move is a good fit."

The firm focuses on insurance for commercial and corporate clients and was founded by Robert Willis in Bangor in 1978. It opened its Coleraine office in August 2014 and revealed it plans to increase its workforce in the area.
