Northern Ireland Science park showcase for start-ups
The Northern Ireland Science Park (NISP) is launching a new event aimed at showcasing fresh tech ideas within the fashion, beauty and music industries.
It's hosting the NI Tech Meet Up events to make it easier for start-ups with tech ideas to get access to its free resources.
Andy McDonald of the NISP said it was now seeing an increasing number of technology firms involved in the burgeoning sectors.
"We have almost 200 companies in the science park in Belfast and the north west spanning a diverse range of sectors," he said.
"Science and technology underpin all of these businesses and we are now seeing an emergence of technologies and products that are transforming sectors such as the world of fashion, hospitality, sport and beauty."
Among those involved in the new event is Ian Scott from video tagging company Taggled, which is now working with global fashion platform ShopStyle.
"While the start-up scene can be tough to navigate and succeed in, with the right product, team and support, I believe you can compete and thrive at a high level," he said.
The first event will take place at Hedonist hair salon on Belfast's Botanic Avenue on next Friday.
