Omniplex premieres at The Outlet Banbridge

A new Omniplex cinema is opening at The Outlet centre in Banbridge as part of a £4.5m investment. Irish group Omniplex said it would be creating 25 jobs at the cinema - which follows Tristan Capital Partners and Lotus Group's acquisition of The Outlet.

Paul John Anderson, operations director for the Omniplex Group in Northern Ireland, said: "The Banbridge area has been of keen interest to our business for some time now.

"The opportunity to locate at The Outlet, during this exciting period of investment and development, posed the ideal time for us to finally break ground in Banbridge and continue the expansion of Omniplex Cinemas in Northern Ireland."

And Chris Nelmes, centre manager at The Outlet, said the cinema would be surrounded by food and drink outlets for the convenience of cinema-goers. A new McDonald's was already being built, he added.

The Omniplex is the second cinema for Banbridge, joining the IMC in Downshire Place in the Co Down town.
