Opportunity knocks for CEOs in EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme

By Margaret Canning

Entrepreneurs eager to follow in the footsteps of Kainos boss Brendan Mooney by winning one of Ireland's biggest business prizes can now apply for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme.

Firms in all sectors and of all sizes in Northern Ireland are invited to apply before the February 22 deadline.

And 24 finalists from both sides of the border will be announced on April 27.

Rob Heron, EY partner, said that the benefits of the programme extended far and wide.

Finalists are able to connect with a network of over 450 top entrepreneurs from around Ireland, and take part in the business advisory firm's CEO retreat.

Kainos chief Brendan Mooney won the Northern Ireland and Ireland heats last year.

This was shortly after floating Belfast-based IT firm Kainos on the LSE.

First Derivatives boss Brian Conlon won the prize in 2009.
