Pensions shortfall soars

THE funding shortfall faced by the UK's biggest pension schemes has soared by 5% during the past four years, new research has suggested. Yet the deficit of the UK's 2 largest defined benefit schemes remained broadly stable during November, rising by only £2bn to £71bn, according to consultancy firm Aon Hewitt.
