Planned strike at rail freight company called off

A planned strike by workers at a rail freight company over pay has been suspended.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union at Freightliner Heavy Haul were due to walk out on Thursday and Friday after voting by 3-1 in favour of industrial action.

The union's executive decided to suspend the industrial action to allow for a ballot on a revised offer to take place.
