A fashion retailer which promises "fun, relaxed and friendly" shopping for plus-size ladies is opening its first Northern Ireland store in CastleCourt, Belfast.

Taking Shape, which was established in Australia, said strong online sales in Northern Ireland had encouraged it to secure a bricks and mortar store in Belfast.

The store opens on July 11 at Unit 39 in the shopping centre.

CastleCourt also recently announced the opening of Simply Be and Jacamo at a unit formerly occupied by Republic.

Taking Shape said: "With over 28 years' experience, over 130 stores across Australia and New Zealand, and 17 UK stores, Taking Shape expands into Northern Ireland with a great understanding of what fuller figured women are looking for.

"The retailer offers women's clothing that is fashionable, has personality and flatters – a fun, relaxed and friendly shopping experience."

Bravissimo, its sister brand Pepperberry, which specialise in fashionwear for well-endowed women, recently opened in Royal Avenue in the city.
