Premier Electrics spark life into new Primark store

Mid-Ulster company Premier Electrics has completed the full electrical fit-out of a Primark store in Bath.

The new store is near the famous Roman Baths in the city, and is housed in Grade 1 listed buildings that were once home to a grand hotel.

The Bellaghy-based electrical contractor was given a 15-week timeframe to deliver the fit-out project.

Premier's role covered the installation of lighting, power, data, fire alarms and CCTV.

The overall £5m fit-out project was carried out by another Northern Ireland company, H&J Martin.

The project involved major structural works as well as strip-out the listed buildings.

Premier had a 20-strong team, including supply chains, working on the site opposite the world famous Roman Baths and next to a museum. Joe McCormack, Premier's operations manager in the UK, said: "It was an extremely challenging fit-out for our team that required scrutinised co-ordinating of new electrical systems within a World Heritage building of stature."

Premier has worked on dozens of projects for Primark across the UK.

The award-winning contractor has also completed electrical fit-outs for many of the top retail brands throughout the UK and Ireland as well as across Europe in Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium and Holland.
