Pub business put on market

Hospitality entrepreneur Mark Beirne has put his south Belfast pub business on the market.

The House on Stranmillis Road has an asking price of £350,000 for its lease, goodwill, fixtures and fittings.

Commercial property agents BTW Shiells list the business’s virtues as “unrivalled catchment” and “impressive turnover”.

Surveyor Greg Henry of BTW Shiells said: “A number of our clients are looking at The House, which has a very good reputation.” Stephen Magorrian, managing director of pub chain Botanic Inns, ruled the company out of taking on the business.

Mr Beirne (36) has run a large number of establishments in Belfast, starting with Milk nightclub in Talbot Street, which he redeveloped and sold.

His Life Inns company also opened The Potthouse in the Cathedral Quarter and The Advocate on Chichester Street which he went on to sell.
