Randox's £1.2m deal with health trusts in NI
Co Antrim medical testing firm Randox has won a £1.2m five-year contract to supply quality control products to the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care Trusts.
The contract will see the company supply quality control products to every hospital within the trusts.
The deal means that routine patient blood tests carried out in any NHS hospital or clinic in Northern Ireland will developed by Randox and manufactured at its Crumlin laboratories.
Steven Jordan, global manager for Randox Quality Control, said the company was saving lives and helping the economy.
"Randox's reputation as a leader in diagnostics is recognised across the world," he said.
"We are delighted that the people of Northern Ireland will now be able to benefit from this level of global expertise, ensuring more accurate and reliable diagnosis, and improving the health outlook for all."
