Rugby stars helping to tackle workplace barriers

By Staff Reporter

Top female rugby players and retired Ulster and Ireland player Stephen Ferris are due to speak at the Women in Business Leadership Conference next month.

They will be joined by keynote speaker Suzanne Wylie, chief executive of Belfast City Council, at the 'Tackling Success' themed conference, hosted by BBC sports presenter Stephen Watson.

The event takes place at the La Mon Hotel on May 4. The theme, Tackling Success, will focus on how these high-profile leaders in business and sport have overcome personal and business obstacles on their journey to success.

Meanwhile, just last week there were calls for Northern Ireland's 9.1% gender pay gap to be "addressed urgently".

Ann McGregor, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said more should be done to decrease the deficit even further.
