Science Park extension welcomes new tenants

By Clare Weir

New tenants at a £6m extension to the Northern Ireland Science Park which will house up to 500 new jobs have been visiting the facility.

The fully-let Concourse II development, which will be home to technology firms Kana Software, Export Technologies, and Parity, an IT services provider listed on the London Stock Exchange, will open in August.

The development is the second of three buildings known as 'The Concourse' and is funded by Belfast Harbour. When fully completed the complex will represent an investment of more than £20m and will increase the employment capacity at the Science Park to over 2000.

Mervyn Watley, director of corporate real estate and facilities at the Science Park, said it is now one of the top 10 science parks in the UK.

"I have no doubt the new tenants to the Concourse II will thrive in this collaborative environment and I look forward to welcoming them formally in August," he added.
