SHU retains top eaterie accolade
BELFAST restaurant SHU has claimed the Best Restaurant in Northern Ireland title for the second consecutive year at the 2013 National Restaurant Awards after impressing judges with its menu, designed by head chef Brian McCann.
SHU (above), which is owned by restaurateur Alan Reid, is the only Northern Ireland restaurant to be recognised by the National Restaurant Awards which celebrate the 100 best places to eat out in the UK, as voted for by 150 industry experts.
It came in at number 86 overall in the UK. Scooping the number one spot for the first time is The Hand & Flowers, Tom Kerridge's pub-restaurant in Marlow, Essex.
