Sky subscribes to Firstsource call centre for a decade

By Margaret Canning

Call centre giant Firstsource, which employs more than 1,300 people in Northern Ireland, has reached a new 10-year customer service deal with Sky.

Firstsource will be providing broadband and TV customer service until 2026 after the media giant decided to consolidate its outsourcing deals with the company.

A spokesman for Firstsource said it had been operating in Northern Ireland since 2006.

"Sky is one of its key clients here across its sites in Belfast and Londonderry," he said.

"There are a total of 951 employees working with Sky in Londonderry and 386 in Belfast.

"The contract extension will provide employment security for many staff here and demonstrates the company's continued commitment to Northern Ireland."

The deal will see 1,200 staff in Warrington and Derby transferring to Firstsource.

Sky broadcasts TV drama favourites including Billions (above), as well as providing internet services for its customer base.

Firstsource Solutions chief executive and chairman Rajesh Subramiam said: "As consumers demand more and more from leading brands, we know that great customer experience is what now sets the very best organisations apart.

"We are delighted to be one of Sky's strategic partners and look forward to continuing our exciting journey with them over the coming years.''
