SSE wind farm has power for 16,500 Northern Ireland homes
Renewable energy giant SSE has launched its latest wind farm in Co Tyrone.
The company said the Slieve Divena II, near Ballygawley, would generate enough energy to power 16,500 homes in Northern Ireland.
Its completion follows the unveiling of another wind farm by SSE earlier this year at Tievenameenta at Killeter in the county.
Project manager Pat Tierney said: "This will help power more homes and businesses with clean, green energy, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Alongside the positive environmental impacts, the construction has brought economic benefit to the area, through jobs and supply chain opportunities."
