St Mark's are back on top as they close in on coveted crown
The Investec Wealth and Investment/Business Telegraph School Share Race now enters the home straight and with just two weeks to go before the closing date, St Mark's High School, Warrenpoint have regained their position at the top the league table, their portfolio of investments having risen by a most impressive 6.6% over the course of the week.
Last week's leaders Loreto College, Coleraine managed a 4.5% increase themselves but now find themselves £1,400 adrift in second place.
Belfast High School remain third, some £7,000 further behind - so it looks like a straight fight between the current top two in the table for the first prize of £500 of gift vouchers.
However, last year's winner Newbridge Integrated College has surged 10 places to 10th in a desperate late bid to retain their crown.
In a week where the FTSE 350 index of leading companies finished largely unchanged, remarkably almost all school teams managed to record a positive return on their portfolio.
Indeed, half of the school teams have managed to outperform the 4.63% rise in the value of the FTSE 350 index since the competition got underway in October.
