Storage firm unlocks the Irish market

Metal storage manufacturer Sperrin Metals has secured two new contracts in Dublin worth a combined £150,000.

The contracts will see the Draperstown firm supply and install 800 high-quality aluminium lockers in the new Aviva Stadium at Lansdowne Road, and also to Dublin Airport's revamped second terminal.

The company has received assistance from Invest NI to expand into UK markets and purchase established locker manufacturer Helmsman, enhancing its market position in the UK storage equipment market.

Peter Gormley from Sperrin Metals said: "The locker contracts secured at Aviva and Dublin Airport are a great achievement for the company as it implements its strategic plan of developing new customers and business opportunities across Europe and the world.

"The development of the locker business is only part of our overall plan, which includes the production of a live storage product, along with Samco Europe Limited, in partnership with an international company, which is being distributed across the globe."

John Hood, Invest NI's Acting Director of Engineering and Business Services, said: "This is a significant deal for Sperrin Metals and signals the success of the company's growth plans, including the Helmsman acquisition."
