Paul McCartan, managing director of Motorsport Trailers, joins John Deery, business manager at Danske Bank, Belfast

A company which makes trailers for the transport of motorsport vehicles is hoping to sell its products to global markets.

Motorsport Trailers, a family firm in Ballygowan, hopes an investment financed by Danske Bank will help it to break into markets like Europe, Australia, North America and the Middle East.

The company's designs have been adapted to several motorsports, including rallying and motorbike racing.

Paul McCartan, managing director of Motorsport Trailers, said: "With the support of Danske Bank, we've been able to turn our idea into a product that will sell around the world. We've seen exceptional demand, and by paying close attention to market conditions, we've taken this opportunity to launch something unique.

"There isn't another firm doing what we're doing."

John Deery, business manager at Danske Bank in Belfast, said: "Innovation and export are two key components of rebalancing the Northern Ireland economy and Motorsport Trailers is right at the forefront of both."
