Ulster Bank parent RBS fuels bonus pay row

Ulster Bank parent Royal Bank of Scotland, which is majority owned by the taxpayer, has risked fuelling anger over bankers' pay by hiring a top dealmaker who sued his last employer for £2m for not giving him his full bonus.

John McIntyre, RBS's new head of corporate finance, was formerly UK head of mergers and acquisitions at Dresdner Kleinwort, which was taken over by German giant Commerzbank.
