US tech firm Bazaarvoice creates 168 new jobs in Belfast

A US tech firm which works with some of the world’s biggest brands and retailers is creating 168 new jobs

Bazaarvoice produces consumer-generated content and advertising for companies such as Debenhams and Philips.

The firm has chosen Belfast as its new European base.

The new jobs are set to be created over the next three years.

Invest NI is putting up more than £1m towards the new posts.

The average salary is around £32,400.

Gary Allison, executive vice president of engineering at Bazaarvoice, said: “I am very excited to be announcing our investment in Northern Ireland.

“The new office will enable us to expand the delivery of cutting edge software development, provide cost effective support to our US and EMEA customers and to drive customer growth in the UK and Europe.”

Invest NI chief executive Alastair Hamilton said: “The new office will house 168 software engineering, sales and customer service staff to help service and grow the company’s UK and European business.

“Once fully operational this will generate nearly £5.5m annually in salaries, into the Northern Ireland economy.”
