Ventilation firm snaps up air duct company in strategic buy

By Clare Weir

A Co Down-based air duct company has been acquired by a firm from the East Midlands.

Ventilation equipment manufacturer Elta Group has made an undisclosed deal to take over Duct Products Ltd in a bid to boost the firm's presence in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning servicing market in Ireland.

Duct Products was established in 1988 and specialises in the manufacturing of RCM grilles, louvres and Actionair fire dampers, unique to Northern Ireland.

Graham Elsworth, transaction services partner at BDO, helped broker the deal.

"This was a strategic acquisition that strengthens Elta Group's offering even further," he said.

"The group has a large market presence across four continents and we were delighted to work with the team again and be involved in this transaction."

Chris Moore, Elta Group company secretary, added: "As on previous occasions when we have used BDO for due diligence, they adopted a pragmatic and commercial approach to the assignment."

The Elta Group of companies provides fans and related ventilation equipment to customers across the world.
