Vivomed lands £80,000 contract in the Middle East

A Co Down company specialising in sports medicine, physiotherapy and first aid products has made its first foray into the Middle East with a lucrative contract worth an estimated £80,000 over the next 12 months.

Vivomed, which also includes training courses in its online range of products and services, has found a new market with a major distributor in the Gulf state of Abu Dhabi.

The Downpatrick company clinched the deal after participating in the Arab Health Exhibition in Dubai earlier this year.

Vivomed's business development manager Chris Webb said the Emirates exhibition was pivotal in securing the business.

"We were able to engage with those who expressed interest in our products and expertise and follow the leads up when we returned home," he said.

"We also identified a suitable distribution partner to work with. We have also been able to access invaluable trade advice from the experienced team at Invest NI."

He added: "In addition, we intend to use Abu Dhabi as a springboard to other neighbouring markets especially Dubai and Qatar."

Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director, said the expo was "now recognised as being an ideal platform for business growth in the Middle East and indeed further afield".
