Waste firm RiverRidge buys part of rival's business
Northern Ireland waste management firm RiverRidge Recycling has acquired part of a European rival.
RiverRidge, which is based in Coleraine, has paid an undisclosed sum for the Northern Ireland operations of French company GDF Suez.
Suez specialises in recycling and waste for commercial customers.
A spokeswoman for RiverRidge said the acquisition gave it "a stronger presence in the Belfast market and will augment its already established collection business".
And it would also help the firm establish a presence across Northern Ireland, she added.
RiverRidge is a trading division of Coleraine Skip Hire & Recycling.
It started out as a landfill business before setting up a major recycling operation and investing £3.2m in a materials recycling facility.
