Wendy is making her name with new Belleek gift range

By Staff Reporter

Northern Ireland giftware brand Belleek Pottery has launched a new range named after a former placement student. It's the first time in the Co Fermanagh company's 160-year-history that products have been launched under the name of their designer.

The Belleek Living Lough Collection by Wendy Ward features a lamp and two vases.

Wendy is a designer who secured a year-long placement with Belleek aimed at the wedding gift market.

She secured her placement through a programme supported by Invest NI and the Arts Council.

The designer said: "From my undergraduate days I have wanted to specialise in porcelain and lighting design and I was delighted to get the opportunity to work with such a well-known and respected company as Belleek Pottery.

"In honesty, I never expected any of my designs to make it into production, let alone see the company commit to investing in a Wendy Ward brand.

"I am absolutely thrilled with how my relationship with Belleek has developed and look forward to further developing the range."

Belleek recently announced the launch of a new website selling its own brand, along with Galway Crystal, Galway Living and Aynsley China, which it also owns.
