£18m City Quays car park 'to create 100 construction jobs'
Work will begin building a £18m car park later this month which will become the latest part of the City Quays development at Belfast Harbour.
The 907-car space development is the latest phase of the waterside scheme, and will take around 12 months to complete.
Newry firm Felix O'Hare will build the car park, and the Harbour says around 100 construction jobs are due to be created.
Initial pre-construction ground preparation began on the site this week, but work on the building will begin on August 18.
Graeme Johnson, Belfast Harbour’s property director, said: “We’re delighted that work is getting underway on a project which will allow us to plan ahead and implement future phases of commercial development within City Quays.
The first and second phases of City Quays have already attracted top-end company tenants such as international law firm Baker & McKenzie, while broadcaster UTV will set up home at City Quays 2 next year.
