Administrator puts Carrickfergus nursing home on market for £750k
A Co Antrim nursing home that has gone into administration has gone on the market for £750,000.
Tamlaght Nursing Home on Larne Road in Carrickfergus, which is still in operation, is being offered for sale on the instructions of Gregg Sterritt, who is acting as administrator.
Mr Sterritt said: "I would advise that since my appointment on April 10 the home has continued to trade under my supervision as administrator with all staff being maintained and the residents continuing to be cared for.
"My intention is to continue the trading of the home until a sale to a new homecare provider can be facilitated."
Mr Sterritt has initiated the sale process "and would hope to conclude in the next few months".
He added: "There has been good interest already in the purchase of the home with a number of parties having already been in contact with me prior to the commencement of the marketing."
The detached property is two storeys with 43 rooms and currently operates as a private residential care home for patients over 65 years of age.

The facility extends to 1.7 acres and is listed by Osborne King, which is also appealing for sellers to list their properties on its next online auction scheduled to take place on June 19.
Previous online auctions held by the firm have attracted a lot of attention in recent years leading to the estate agency being placed sixth in the UK Top Commercial Auctioneers for 2018.
The company has also been ranked ninth out of 20 auctioneers in the UK for online auction sales to date.
Mark Carron, director of Osborne King, said interest in its last online auction held in March was "extremely high".
That catalogue of properties was varied with minimum reserve prices ranging from £10,000 to £700,000.
Among the properties in the March auction were modern office buildings at Lisburn and Edgewater, residential development opportunities at Stockmans Lane, Dundonald, Crumlin Road, as well as a number of investments including Newtownards Road, Rathfriland, Ballycastle and two ground rent investments in Belfast and Antrim."
Obsborne King was long associated with a tradition of ballroom auctions in venues such as hotels, before the firm started to embrace online auctions in 2018 - one of which sold over £7m worth of properties.
Since 2011, the estate agent has had an overall success rate of over 90%, raising more than £78m through its traditional and online auctions.
