Advisor says minerals firm acquisition 'great news'

A corporate finance advisor has described a major acquisition for a client as "another good news story for NI plc".

HNH was lead advisor on the £4.5m deal, advising Kilwaughter Minerals in Larne on the purchase of Alumasc Facades from Alumasc Group plc.

The team at HNH in Belfast was led by Craig Holmes.

Mr Holmes said: "HNH was delighted to act for one of Northern Ireland's leading privately owned companies in this transaction.

"This acquisition will strategically enhance Kilwaughter's presence in Great Britain and offer further growth opportunities across their markets. It is another good news story for NI plc."

Kilwaughter is an established quarry and mineral processor making limestone products under the K Rend and Kilwaughter Lime brands. It's also the UK's largest independent manufacturer of silicone render and employs around 120 people.

The deal means that it now employs around 200 people across two manufacturing sites with six distribution facilities.
