Application to demolish Dublin city centre hotel and pub

An application has been made by a development company that is owned by businessman Larry Goodman for permission to demolish a city centre hotel in Dublin.

Ternary is seeking approval to demolish the Kildare Street Hotel, which occupies a number of premises on the corner of Kildare Street and Nassau Street, to allow for the construction of a new five-storey mixed use development.

The plans also provide for the demolition of the hotel's adjoining pub known as J P Mooney's.

The proposed 2,800m sq development will provide for retail and cafe uses at ground floor level with office use on the upper floors and on one of two basement levels.

Mr Goodman is best known as the owner of meat company ABP.
