Arity director Andrew Jenkins named local fintech envoy
A director of the analytics company Arity has been appointed fintech envoy for Northern Ireland.
Andrew Jenkins' role makes him the lead ambassador for the local fintech sector.
The appointment was made by John Glen, economic secretary to the Treasury.
The Government said the appointment "underlines our unwavering commitment to the Union as the UK prepares for Brexit, as well as promoting Northern Ireland as a great place to do business".
Mr Jenkins, a graduate of Ulster University, succeeds Georgina O'Leary, director of innovation, research and development at Allstate. Arity is a subsidiary of Allstate.
Mr Jenkins vowed to bring together business and civic leaders to invest in technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.
