Banbridge family shoe shop Donaghy's invests £100k on ecommerce

By Emma Deighan

A Banbridge store is investing £100,000 into its online business and adding four new roles to its 75-strong team.

Family-owned Donaghy Shoes will use the funding, which was supported by Danske Bank, for new software and the creation of a new multi-currency website as well as contributing towards its warehouse management.

Donaghy Shoes has operated on Newry Street since 1960 and stocks women's, men's and children's footwear including products from Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Adidas and Nike.

Director Peter McVeigh said: "It's essential for us to offer a wide range as that opens us up to customers beyond our base."

He added that 90% of online business goes across the UK, but "in the next six months, we hope to develop our clothing department and further extend our existing premises".
