A group of Belfast-based business figures have launched a new development programme based in the Cathedral Quarter of the city.

Raise Accelerator offers six Northern Ireland start-ups the opportunity to work with a team of business experts and investors for six months.

The aim is to innovate, accelerate and raise investment, getting them investor-ready in return for a 6% stake in their business.

Jenny Ervine from Raise Ventures explained: "We are looking for founders with a start-up idea, who have identified an opportunity to scale that idea into a large, addressable market."

Tech start-ups Armour, SWIS and Batch Buddy are among the programme's early success stories, with benefits ranging from securing investor funding to help in bringing products to global markets. Applications are currently open until August.
